FLUSS is made up of a group of artists and cultural facilitators, whose objective is to encounter photography including the new media in a socially and artistically meaningful way. Since its foundation in 1989, FLUSS has also been actively seeking cooperation with partners in other countries, especially its Eastern European neighbours. The Weinviertler Fotowochen (regional photographic weeks), that are held once a year in summer, comprising two photographic courses held by well-known artists, lectures, and a final exhibition, have become a FLUSS institution that also offer an opportunity to further ones education in the fields of photography and the new media. Beyond that, youth projects were carried out in cooperation with students and teachers, as well as artistic-techical educational programs (DatenFLUSS, computer courses). Since 2001 the artistic programme of FLUSS has been curated by the alien productions team Andrea Sodomka, Martin Breindl, and Norbert Math.
