Wintersberger Markus

Born in 1968 in Krems, Lower Austria.
1987 - 1995 studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna with Prof. Bernhard Leitner.
Working since 1995 as a freelance artist.
From 1996, various teaching positions at Austrian Aart universities. 1996 - 2005 Lecturer at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Institute for Media Art. 1999 - 2001 Head of Media Technology at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten. 2005 - 2008 Lecturer at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Institute for Art and Communication Practices. 2006 - 2008 Lecturer at the University of Fine Arts Vienna, Institute for Arts Education. 2006 Cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in opera direction and set design.
Since 2007 FH Professor of Experimental Media at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten. 2009 granting of the recognition award for media art by the state of Lower Austria.

2004 Foundation of media art laboratory medienwerkstatt006 based in Vienna and Lower Austria.
Intensive research and aesthetic use of media production mechanisms. Examination of current assumptions of reality from the perspective of an artistic - experimental research horizon. Working closely with other artistic disciplines in theater, dance, drama, new music, opera, multimedia and architecture. Research, design and implementation of artistic formats in and outside of institutional spaces, such as music theaters, museums, galleries, theater, sacred places and the public space.
